Hi

I’ve been doing my Bedtime stories group via Zoom. I usually greet the kids and we have a few minutes of sharing about our days, their stuffed animals, haircuts etc. and then we sing a couple of silly songs together. I read a story and we talk about the topic of the book. After that I turn on some soft music and do a guided meditation or relaxation. After that we do positive affirmations and then we close by the children taking turns telling me what they want to dream about.

Before new families join that group I have the parent send me an email and I send the guidelines to them. (I’ve attached the guidelines for the group.) If they agree then I send them the Zoom link.  We meet twice a week for 45 mins.

Our Program is open to parents with children of all ages and the objectives are to help strengthen the bond between parent and child, to help parents gain confidence and to bring more awareness of domestic violence to our community.
In July we started meeting on Zoom and it’s been going really well. Let me know if you would like more information.

Jodi-
We are not doing any kids groups virtual yet either and probably won't till after the new year.  Right now we are finishing up handing out our summer fun bags full of activities and keeping in touch via zoom with the mom's.  I do allow for the kiddos to get in the last couple of minutes to say hi.  Or we do a parking lot "catch up" where the kids are in the car and we (wearing masks) can say hi from a distance when mom is picking up the summer fun bags and food boxes.
Just too risky at this time and we have had several staff out because of coming in contact with COVID or a family member that has it.

What protocol is in place to keep everyone safe?

What does spacing look like?
Are there plastic barriers?
Are you keeping families together?
How are you maintaining distance and keeping masks on kids?
Are you limiting the time of group?
How are you making sure people,  toys and supplies are appropriately sanitized during and after?
